Flock it to Me!

I know I’m probably a year behind on this one, but wow am I having fun with the Flock browser.  In fact, this blog post comes directly from the social sidebar where I can access all of my social networks & media while I browse the web.  If you haven’t seen it, go immediately over to Flock, The Social Web Browser! and give it a test drive.

The single-most time-saving feature thus far of the Flock browser, for me, is the quick RSS Feed subscription button.  I use Google Reader and in any other browser,  I have to click the RSS feed, then a Google page comes up asking me if I want to add it to iGoogle or my Google Reader.  For me, the answer is always Google Reader.  This takes about 3 clicks (because I like to set the feed into a category) and about 1 minute.  With Flock, once I setup my reader preferences, all I have to do is click the oragnge RSS icon in the address bar and I’m subscribed.  It’s so much faster!

I’m also quite fond of the real-time status updates from Twitter & Facebook that flow nicely into the social sidebar.  Now my attention deficit disorder will be constantly soothed by a streaming flow of random distraction.  Aaaah, the feeds.

Flock is based on the Mozilla framework, so if you use Firefox and just have to have those plug-ins, you’re in luck.  The Flock browser will automatically import most of your settings, plug-ins, bookmarks, Greasemonkey scripts, etc…

What the Flock are you waiting for?  Flocking do it already!
